Establishment of Diriyah
Prince Mani’ Al- Muraydi migrates towards the Wadi Hanifah Valley and establishes the Emirate of Diriyah.
1727
Establishment of the first Saudi State.
The Imam Mohammed bin Saud establishes the first Saudi State and names Diriyah as its capital.
1805
Unification of most of the Arabian Peninsula
A time of prosperity, the Arabian Peninsula is unified for the first time in over a thousand years.
1902
Unification Campaign of the Kingdom
King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud commences a unification campaign starting with the recapturing of Riyadh.
1932
The Kingdom is born
A declaration of the unification of the State under the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is made by King Abdulaziz.
1973
Conservation of historic Diriyah begins
Operating under the Agency for Antiquities and Museums at the Ministry of Knowledge, conservation begins.
1998
Historic Diriyah Development Project
Led by the CTHM King Salman, the Historic Diriyah Development Project is formalized into a program.
2010
At-Turaif is inscribed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site
After restoration, operating with the guidance of UNESO, At-Turaif is inscribed into the UNESCO World heritage List.
2017
The Diriyah Gate Development Authority
Pursuant to a Royal Decree (No. A/295), DGDA is established to preserve, develop, celebrate, and regulate Diriyah.
2022
Diriyah Company
Diriyah Company is established to conserve Diriyah’s heritage while developing a new cultural capital.
